Concerning “bay’unz” [Note: This is a word which Samuel uses for which there is no English equivalent nor a “correct” spelling.]: From what you said at the retreat about bay’unz, am I correct when I think of them as being the emotional, fear-driven aspects of our thinking that keep us from being all that we can be, even compelling negative behaviors or inhibiting our abilities to take right-minded actions?
No. The questioner was going on a close parallel course that might be their best understanding, their best mental “grok,” of this, but to label fears and emotions as bay’unz is too solid to this world. Fears and emotions have too much to do with psychological impact, and a bay’unz is more than that. A bond is not a bay’unz. Chains to old thinking are not bay’unz, because they can be broken by changed behavior.
The closest I can probably get—and you must remember when you hear it or read it that this is something being given to a brain, so that it can wrap around it—a bay’unz is closer to an instinctual taboo than to a reaction. For example, to some societies incest is a taboo, while to others it’s acceptable, so that’s a learned reaction, not an instinctual one. However, from your genetic core there are certain behaviors that are inherently a part of you—a mother-child connection is a bay’unz.
Concerning eating fish: Does the choice alone to eat something containing fish eliminate us as Guardians? If not, when I dine out and choose to eat something like pad thai that contains about a quarter of a teaspoon of fish sauce, how detrimental is this and how long does it affect my ability to act as a Guardian? How about the effects of eating a four-ounce portion of fish?
These are the kinds of questions that, if I had a heart, they would break it.
You live in a quantitative society. That shows up in such ideas that if a little is good, a lot is better. “Well, if this is bad for me but just do a small amount of it, then it’s just a small amount bad for me.” Or, “I would never ever, ever think of killing a human being, but watch out, ants, I’ll smash you all.”
Life force is life force, and the currently perceived dominant species has worked with a precedence of power, meaning might, strength, ruling. “I need to remove this tree that has been here for five hundred years, guarding and protecting this area of the earth, because it’s in my way and I want to build my home. I have that right,” says the human. “I have the right to take this same five-hundred-year-old tree that has been guarding and protecting this area, rather than a five-year-old softwood sucker because I’m cold and I need fire.”
What I just gave you there was to show that there are options in that you do have a certain amount of precedence. It’s true, individuated consciousness allows for that, but the keyword there is consciousness, not individuated. You are wrong in believing that, because you are bigger than whatever it is you are going to kill, it is all right. And the more sensitive you become, the more you are aware of it. The more you channel high frequency energy through you, the more sensitive you become.
Having said all of that, I’m going to do something that I try to avoid usually. I try to avoid bursting in on your personal fairy tale and making your life hard by facing you with the reality of your decisions. I try to soften that as much as possible. I’ve spent many, many of your years doing that with you in order for you to become strong enough to deal with the sensitivity.
In the last newsletter, I was very clear. I’m very grateful for questions being as clear as they were that allowed me to do that. I was very clear that one of the greatest negative effects on your ability to function at your highest frequency is the eating of flesh— meat—that which has a brain, that which has been born, hatched, that which comes from the animal kingdom. I cannot be more specific than that.
I am talking about anything that has to do with the death of a creature. It’s important that you realize that, despite the fact that I don’t have a difficulty with your drinking milk, it’s nasty for your body, and there’s no need for you to be drinking it. Baby cows are designed to drink it, not you. Why don’t you drink breast milk? Well, it sounds awful to you, but that’s the one that’s designed for humans. But anyway, I don’t have a problem with that. You might be running into a consciousness issue, though, when you are drinking the milk of cows that are forced to live in morally depressing conditions that you advocate and support by buying into the idea that you must have milk in order to get calcium, which, of course, is not true.
It doesn’t matter if you have one quarter of a teaspoon of fish sauce or four ounces of fish or one raw oyster or four small shrimp or one small hamburger or a ham sandwich or a tuna sandwich or whatever you want to put in there—those differences don’t matter. Whether you eat a small piece of poison or a big one, your frequency is affected.
Gelatin is a product of the cattle industry. It requires the use of the hooves, most particularly, because of a substance that is found in the hooves of cows. It is a collateral industry. Gelatin goes into many of your yogurts. You eat yogurt, but you don’t bother to look at the label and see if gelatin is in there.
Now, does it have an effect on your energy if you don’t know about it? Yes it does. Does it have an even greater effect if you know about it but say, “Well I’m not going to do anything about this. There’s nothing I can do. I’m just stuck; therefore the best I can do is take it as it is.” Whether you know about it or not, it affects you. And when you know about it but say, “There’s nothing I can do about it” because you don’t want to seek out alternatives and you don’t want to make the change, you are consciously saying, “So what?” And the impact of that increases the damage. Sure, it is time-consuming and not a whole lot of fun for you to buy non-gelatin capsules and transfer the contents of your medications, for example, but it can be done. There are alternative technologies available that you can make use of.
All right, what about those times that the situation isn’t under your control and there isn’t anything you can do? Maybe there were times that you did everything you could to find out what the ingredients were, because you are choosing to be as conscious as possible, and you were assured they were fine, only to find out later that there actually was some animal product in there; what about then? There it does have an effect, but the intent and honest attempt to do all you can about it might go so far as to balance that out.
The reader that sent in this question knows and understands that fish sauce is not vegetarian, that fish is not vegetarian. This reader’s responsibility is to eliminate those things from their diet.
In the Guardianship Program, there were some questions that came in about “Is it all right if I follow through with all of the protocols, except in a certain environment let them go, because it will be more socially acceptable and less stressful to do that?” What do you think my answer was? It doesn’t matter what situation you are in; you have a compact. However, what I also said in that regard was that what you need to look at is the situation. Let’s say that you are Jewish and you were going to a very special Passover celebration that was going to be the opportunity to get together with relatives you had not been with in a very longtime, but it was going to involve eating foods that are not a part of your spiritual diet—of course, you know that the Passover meal involves a meat portion, and you don’t eat animal. But in working this through, perhaps you got together with your parents and said, “All right, just for this occasion I will go ahead and do this because it’s an act of love, and it is a choice being made consciously to allow for greater unity in this unique and special situation.” And then the Guardianship Program comes up, and it says that throughout the program you are going to be absolutely pure. But in the middle of that program is that special Passover thing that you already had a commitment to. What I said was that, for that specific occasion, your prior commitment can take precedence over the more recent one. But that was a very special exception. It was an exception that was allowed, even when other exceptions were not.
The reason that I allowed so few exceptions in this Guardianship Program was that you, as Guardians, have moved beyond the message of what the original program was about. The first Guardianship Program was more or less boot camp, putting discipline into your life. But with the 5:3:2 working of fusion, self-discipline is not the issue; perfection is. Fusion required a group of individuals working in, yes, One Heart, yes, One Mind, but, more, the perfection of One Body. That working (fusion) happened because the group that took part in it in Bolivia had let go of their individual needs and, for enough time for that working to come about, became One Body perfectly. That is the kind of perfection that is required.
“But Samuel,” YOU ask, “however can we live perfectly like that?” Well, you can’t. Instead you do it by functioning as One Body. Where Frank falls down, Heidi is still standing. That is what you are working on right now. This sort of perfected action demands a consciousness far beyond individuation because it asks for a perfected One, which might be three or twelve functioning as one.
So in the Guardianship Program, when someone said they were having trouble taking the daily walk,” the perfect answer would have been, “Well, I’m not, so how can I help you? I’ll send energy your way. I’ll walk with you.”
“Well, Samuel,” you say, “that makes me wonder, would it be possible then for me to go ahead and eat fish, but merge myself with someone who does not?” No. [Laughs]
Or, “Samuel, I ate fish today. When will my energy be able to function at its highest again?” When the resonance is finished with the body. And that’s different for different things. It’s not only that it must be physically passed through, but its signature frequency must be out as well. Now, to go back to the portion of the interview when I was talking about shaping reality: while your energy is still affected by having eaten animals, you are limiting your ability to affect reality.
Samuel, I attend all of your workshops, but I am told that I’m not active enough to qualify for a private session. Why? What’s that about?
It would be so nice to be able to say, “Frank and Stuart are so mean; they make these arbitrary decisions that cause trouble for me.” And yet the reality of ft is I am the one who sets up these rules. I am the one that says you are not active.
Here is how it works. The first thing I want you to remember is that individual sessions can be a delightful opportunity for your energy and mine to be home together. It’s lovely for that. But that’s not what your work or mine is about. Individual sessions are indulgences, and yet I see their value because they help you more quickly come to you, so I allow that they are possible. But I require that those sessions be for somebody who is active in the work.
So how do I define active? The first, the most important definition is that it is when someone takes part in what’s available to them. Now, what is available to the part of this tribe that lives in California is quite different from the part of this tribe that lives in Louisville, and certainly different than those who live in Lexington and Pittsburgh.
If you have the capability, because of the proximity of where you live, to attend what is offered in that area as a part of my work—meaning you take part in tonings, you can support the Monday or Sunday night programs—then you are active. Being active means that you take part in what is available. And in that case, sessions are without question available.
If you live in California and there are no group activities available to you, and getting up to Marion’s group in Seattle is really not workable, even though it is the West Coast, then what you want to do is to stay up with the teachings, and you do what you can where you are. That may mean, for instance, managing somehow—and I realize that this is a hard one— to be a part of a Group of 12 as the outlander. It may mean that you have a subscription to the tapes so that you stay up with the workshops and the teachings. It may mean that you stay involved on the OneHeart line. You tone with the sound bite on the Web site. You do all you can with what’s available to you.
It does not mean, “Well, driving seventy-five miles to Lexington is just too hard. I cannot do that, therefore it’s okay that I’m not involved,” or “I live in Atlanta, but my schedule does not allow me to attend tonings, so it’s okay that I’m not involved.” Or, “I live in Pittsburgh, but my work schedule does not allow me to attend Monday night meetings, therefore I am not involved, but I do come to all the workshops.” No, you’re not involved. You are not taking advantage of what is available to you.
“Well, Samuel,” you ask, “are you saying then that those who live outside of your main cities have the advantage?” No, I am saying that because they have a disadvantage and have to work a lot harder to be active and be up on the teachings and know what’s going on, they are as active as they can be. That’s what I want of everybody. And that means taking part in what is offered, It does not mean, “Well, it depends on my work schedule, my health schedule, my feelings at the moment and what I had for dinner last night.”
Please explain how a vegetarian diet affects the acid and alkaline balance in the body. How do we tell when we’re out of balance in this way?
I believe that this question is based on a misunderstanding. The first thing that you need to remember is that you don’t want a strict balance of acid and alkaline in your body. That’s not how your body is meant to function. You want to be working at what is optimal for you. Don’t think of it as acid or alkaline. The only time I make reference to that is usually in an individual session, although I have said it in question-and-answer sessions when somebody wants to know what to do about painful joints or connective tissues. If you are experiencing, for instance, arthritic changes in your body, paying attention to the amount of acid food you eat will have an effect upon the amount of pain that you experience. That is because your acid balance has to do with the neurotransmission of pain signals. If you have a diet high in acid food, you’re going to feel your pain more strongly.
Does that mean that you should cut out acid food? No, because if you cut it out altogether and you are only functioning in alkalinity, that imbalance is also going to cause you to feel pain. Seek variety in the foods you eat so that you’re not too acid or too alkaline. Don’t consciously have a meal that is tomato sauce with orange juice and a highly sugary dessert without realizing that you’re going to pay for it in the way that your body swells and hurts. Stay aware. That’s what the acid statements I make are about.
Now that we have been practicing merging for so many years, do we still need to go through the whole process—asking permission and what is needed—or can we simply visualize our energy merging with the energy of the person or thing we are merging with? Has 5:3:2 and fusion affected this process, and if so how?
Some within this work are able to merge simply by the acknowledgment that the merging is there. There are some who can do that. For the most part, even though fusion in 5:3:2 has made automatic merging accessible, because of many other elements— which could be the meat you are eating or the attitude you have about certain things, or maybe that you are not being conscious in all areas of your life—the frequency is not high enough for you to do it simply by awareness. In that case, it requires the conscious process.
Realize that you’re much less likely to fail the merger if you do it with the conscious process than if you think, “Well I’m functioning at my highest. I must be one of those that can merge automatically,” because you may not be merging.
